Munire Ozbey started her paint works with art masters like Kayhan Keskinok, Yasar Calli and Haluk Evitan in Ankara where she was born. The artist held her 7. personal exhibition this year. She also participated in some joints exhibitions in Ankara and Istanbul.

Munire Ozbey, who doesn’t define herself in an art movement, is following a free style in paint. She improves and deepens her abstract style by searching much more courageous colors and patterns.

You may find not only the artificial houses, trees, streets in the landscapes and flowers of Munire Ozbey who observes life on the basis of original interpretation from the flowered windows, but also the reflections of human being interpreted with these themes.

Ozbey mentioned “Actually, I am not only painting. I am ‘trying’ in each of my paintings, and being ‘mistaken’ a little bit in each time. I try to correct my mistake in the next painting.” And when it comes to complete the big canvas with the touches of colors, the colors and patterns which flowed from “experiments and mistakes” are turning into “questioning experiments”.

It is obviously seen in the art works of Munire Ozbey who evolves to a style coming closer to abstraction, that the thought of tries and mistakes are also parts of creation.

The artist also has a book named ‘geride resimler kaldi’ (the paintings left behind) which was published from Yorum Sanat Yayinlari in 2003.
